Collected Personal Data
Personal data to be collected are the data requested in the registration form and those produced by participating in the services offered by the portal Study In Italy. -
Scope of Processing
Collected personal data will be used for the sole purpose of evaluating the applications of registered candidates to scholarships offered by the MAECI, of managing assignments, waivers or takeovers and for internal statistical purposes. -
Judicial Basis of the processing
Processing of data provided to the portal Study in Italy is based on consent. The candidate who refuses to provide such data will not be able to log into the service and will be ipso facto excluded from the grant of scholarships. -
Processing Methods
Data will be processed manually by the specifically entrusted personnel of the Office IV of the Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of MAECI and by the Italian Diplomatic Mission accredited in the applicant’s country of origin/application or in the countries responsible for the selection process by territorial competence. -
Data Transmission to Third Parties
Personal data of the Grantees will only be shared with the Universities chosen for pre-enrolment procedures and with the insurance broker society AON for the inclusion on the list of insured Grantees. -
Data retention period
Personal data will be retained for the duration of the scholarship and for the following 10 years for administrative and accounting reasons. Personal data of candidates who have not obtained any scholarship will be kept for 10 years in order to manage any reassignments following waivers or impossibility of the winning candidates, to allow applications for subsequent calls for scholarships and for administrative and statistical reasons. -
Rights of the Data Subject
Users can request to access, update and correct personal information anytime. Within the limits of current regulations, data cancellation can be requested (thus foreseeing the impossibility to access the granting service as stated above), as well as restriction and objection to the processing of personal data. In these cases, Users must submit a specific request to the Office IV of the Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy: Piazzale della Farnesina 1, 00135 ROMA, telephone: +39 06 36911 (switchboard), dgdp-04@esteri.it, dgdp.04@cert.esteri.it, and informing in carbon copy the Data Protection Officer of the MAECI. -
Claims or Complaints
Should they consider that their rights have been infringed, Users can file a complaint to the Data Protection Officer of the MAECI. As an alternative, it is possible to appeal to the Italian Data Protection Authority (Piazza Venezia n. 11 - 00187 Roma, tel. 0039-06696771 - switchboard, email: protocollo@gpdp.it, electronic certified email: protocollo@pec.gpdp.it).
